This Privacy Policy explains how JacketGenius (the “App”), provided by ElCageyApps (“we”, “us”, or “our”), handles information when you use the App.
By using the App, you agree to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
JacketGenius is developed and published by ElCageyApps, based in Alberta, Canada.
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy or our privacy practices, you can contact us at:
This Privacy Policy applies to the use of the JacketGenius App made available through the Apple App Store and used by individuals in any country.
It is intended to reflect common privacy principles found in applicable laws and regulations in the United States, Canada, the European Economic Area (EEA), the United Kingdom, and other jurisdictions, to the extent they apply to our App.
We do not require you to create an account to use the App.
We do not operate backend servers that receive, store, or process your personal data from the App. We do not collect, store, or process personal information about you on our own servers.
The App allows you to create and manage information about your media collection (for example, titles, artists, formats, images of covers, and any other details you choose to enter).
All such information is stored locally on your device and remains under your control. We do not have access to this information and it is not transmitted to us or to any third‑party server for storage.
Any backups of this data occur only through your device’s operating system or backup services (for example, iCloud or other device backup solutions you use). We do not control or access those backups.
We do not collect analytics data (such as usage statistics, crash logs tied to an identifier, or behavioral tracking) through the App.
We do not use cookies, mobile identifiers, or similar tracking technologies for advertising or analytics within the App.
We do not show third‑party advertising in the App and do not share data with advertising networks.
The App may offer AI‑powered features (for example, assistance to help identify or describe media) using services provided by third‑party AI providers such as OpenAI (via the platform used to build the App).
When you use AI features, the App may send the content of your request (for example, text you input or descriptions of your media) to the AI service in order to generate a response. The information sent is limited to what is necessary for the AI service to provide the requested functionality.
These AI services process your data as independent third‑party providers, under their own terms and privacy policies. We do not use AI providers to build profiles of you for marketing or advertising, and we do not combine AI‑processed information with any server‑side profiles, because we do not maintain such profiles.
We encourage you not to include sensitive personal information in AI queries. If you choose to do so, you do so at your own discretion.
The App may provide links or deep links to external services or apps (for example, Apple Music, Spotify, or websites) by passing only the minimum metadata necessary (such as an artist name, track, or album identifier) to open the relevant item.
When you open or use these external services, their own terms and privacy policies will apply. We do not control how those external services handle your data.
The App is designed to be suitable for a general audience and can be used by individuals of all ages. It is not specifically directed at children as its primary audience.
We do not knowingly collect personal information about users, including children, on our own servers, because the App does not send personal data to us.
If you are a parent or guardian and you believe that your child has provided personal information to us directly (for example, by contacting us by email), please contact us at elcageyapps@gmail.com so we can address your request.
Because we do not collect or process your personal information on our own servers through the App, we generally do not act as a “controller” of your in‑App media collection data under certain privacy laws (such as the GDPR or UK GDPR).
If you choose to contact us (for example, by email), we may process the information you provide (such as your email address and the contents of your message) for the following purposes:
In jurisdictions that require a legal basis for processing, we rely on our legitimate interests in operating and improving the App and providing customer support, and/or on your consent where applicable.
Because your media collection data is stored locally on your device, you can manage it directly. Depending on your device and operating system, you can:
If you contact us, you may have rights under applicable law, which can include:
To exercise these rights in relation to information we hold (for example, emails you have sent us), you can contact us at elcageyapps@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding to your request.
For data stored only on your device, you can exercise your rights by using the App’s features or your device settings (for example, by editing or deleting in‑App data, or uninstalling the App).
We design the App so that your media collection data remains on your device and is not transmitted to our own servers.
You are responsible for securing your device and any backups (for example, by using strong passwords, device locks, and secure backup settings).
When you contact us by email, we take reasonable measures to protect the information we receive, but no method of transmission or storage is completely secure.
The App may be used by users in many countries. Because we do not operate backend servers for the App’s normal use, we do not transfer your in‑App media collection data across borders. That data remains on your device and is subject to the privacy and security settings of your device and backup services.
If you contact us from outside Canada, your communication (for example, email) may be processed in Canada and any other location where our email provider or service providers operate. We will handle such information in accordance with this Privacy Policy and applicable law.
We do not retain your in‑App media collection data on our servers, as we do not receive it.
If you contact us, we may retain your email and related information for as long as necessary to handle your inquiry, resolve issues, maintain business records, or comply with legal obligations. When information is no longer needed, we will delete or anonymize it where reasonably practicable.
Because we do not track users across third‑party apps or websites and do not use tracking technologies for analytics or advertising, our App does not respond to “Do Not Track” signals in a special way.
We do not use these signals to alter behavior because no cross‑site tracking is performed.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the “Last updated” date at the top.
If we make material changes to how we describe our practices, we will take reasonable steps to make you aware of those changes, for example by updating the policy linked from our App Store listing or our website.
Your continued use of the App after an updated Privacy Policy has been made available will be considered acceptance of the updated terms.
If you have any questions, concerns, or requests regarding this Privacy Policy or our privacy practices, you can contact us at:
